This Triumph T140 barrel was on standard bores and with the exception of the broken top cooling fin in excellent condition. I created a template of the missing part and cut that from an old set of barrels, after shaping to size it was brazed into position, the original colling fin had extensive stippling to the surface, I recreated this during the painting process with the introduction of a little glass bead to the paint.
Yamaha XJR1300, top cooling fin instal, this was challenging as the customer was rather reluctant to remove the head from the engine, so it was a case of bead on bead with filing every third run of bead to keep the new fin true to is neighbours, the customer intended painting the head once I’d finished, a tricky repair but overall a good end result.
